Dr. Jim Bailey and Dr. Cyril Chang will speak and lead discussion on ‘Health System Transformation: The Path to High-value Health Care’ for the introductory lecture in this regional meeting hosted by the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM).
ACPM is hosting three regional summits to highlight health systems transformation activities and the role of preventive medicine in this work. Presenters will include state officials and stakeholders, state Departments of Health, ACPM members involved in health systems transformation work, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support staff, U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation staff, and health insurance partners among other experts.
ACPM defines health systems transformation as systems-based approaches to improving population, community, and individual health by incorporating and addressing the determinants of health and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of health care.
Summit locations were chosen based on their involvement with health systems transformation projects, proximity to a Preventive Medicine residency program, and their focus on population health. A minimum of one hour of the summit will be set aside as a Preventive Medicine Grand Rounds, targeting preventive medicine and other physician residents, medical, and public health students.
